Fifteen Years ago today, we climbed the stairs at The View Two Gallery for our first ever Mellowtone show. And what a journey it's been - and here we are with a new programme celebrating our journey of gigs, parties and quietly creating a stir...
Along the way we’ve worked with over 500 live acts at over 50 venues, with 30 DJs, and almost 50 illustrators, artists and designers, plus countless other co-conspirators.
When we reached a decade, we released the 'Mellowtone - Ten Years' compilation. For this milestone we’ll be shining a light on some of the illustrators and visual artists who have contributed to our flyer and poster designs. And of course there are also be a number of live events for your delectation and delight, including a programme of free entry gigs in collaboration with the Handyman, the Static Bar & Mellowtone Pub Quiz, and two more ticketed live shows coming up.

The birthday celebrations begin proper on Wednesday 6th November; it’s a gathering and the launch of the 'Mellowtone 15' exhibition, featuring;
- live jazz from The Jubilee Stompers
- our resident Beaten Tracks DJs Richie Vegas & Jonnie O’Hare playing laid back funk, soul, jazz, hiphop, beats and grooves.
- the launch of Handyman IPA X Mellowtone 15 - a commemorative IPA brewed by our friends at the Handyman.

Art, design and illustration have always been a cornerstone of what we do at Mellowtone. Always printed, and consistently monochrome. 'Mellowtone 15' is an exhibition of fifteen original screenprints celebrating this. Featuring artwork by fifteen different artists, in limited editions of fifteen, with each print on sale for (yes...) fifteen pounds. Each image has been lovingly hand-printed by Johanna Wilson at Liverpool studio The Paper Moon, and 50% of proceeds will be donated to local charities.
The exhibition also includes the brand new specially commissioned illustration by Laura-Kate Draws (above), in addition to historic posters, flyers, illustrations, prints and ephemera from the Mellowtone archives.
The exhibition runs from 7th November until 4th December. Free Entry.

We’ve also collaborated with the Handyman Brewery to produce a limited edition beer. Handyman IPA X Mellowtone 15 is an easy going, light, fruity session IPA, brewed with punchy US hops. Available throughout November at Handyman Brewery, Static Bar, Buyers Club (6th November only) and more.
